FUCHSIA’S Favourite Five @ Numaish – A Festive Fair

August 22, 2016

Numaish Festive Fair is back for the second time in Singapore after  their successful debut last year, with 40 well acclaimed designers showcasing affordable designer wear.

Since 2012, Numaish has been running successfully in Dubai and has completed 12 editions, the designer mix is a showcase of  established & emerging South Asian designers.

Numaish  is well known for providing opportunities to emerging  designers thus giving them a platform and a jumpstart  in the global fashion scene,  it is also renowned for its support of revivalist designers, who infuse traditional hand-woven textiles with a modern touch. Their creations are known to have made a significant economic impact in the villages of India and Pakistan.

FUCHSIA presents you our selection of the top 5 designers to look out for at Numaish Festive Fair (2nd Festive International Edition) on 5 September 2016 at Hilton Singapore (Grand Ballroom) from 10am to 8pm.

Ridhi Bansal graduated from National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), New Delhi, in the field of knitwear design. The essence of this brand is in colors and cuts. FUCHSIA loves the elegant and stylishly-cut pieces, which successfully retain the traditional look. Here are a few pieces by her.

“I am an idea, an art, a story; born of imagination and crafted with passion.” – Shahin Mannan

Shahin Mannan’s description of herself already does enough to intrigue and catch attention. Each piece in the line tells a unique story in a sartorial style. Her designs are adorned by the likes of Deepika  Padukone, Sonam Kapoor, Parineeta Chopra and many more celebrities.

Upasana calls itself an ethical fashion brand from Auroville, India, aiming to use fashion as design for change. The work ranges from design and manufacturing of garments using a rich palette of traditional Indian textiles (such as organic cotton and silk from Banaras) to design consultancy, education and social development. The simplicity of the designs with stylish cuts is what caught FUCHSIA’s fancy.

Aditi Holani, a graduate of National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), New Delhi, and Central Saint Martins, London, further trained under designers such as Alexander McQueen and Sophia Kokosalaki before pursuing her own label. Hers are definitely one of FUCHSIA’s check-out items.

After being featured in six seasons of Lakme Fashion Week, MEHAK has become a favourite among celebrities like Kareena Kapoor, Malaika Arora Khan and Deepika Padukone, being synonymous with perfect craftsmanship and limited edition designs. Her forte is in designs in metal using semi-precious stones. Do look out for these.

With less than 3 weeks left to Numaish – A Festive Fair, FUCHSIA is getting more and more excited, and we think you have reason to be as well. So, block your dates, and join FUCHSIA at Hilton Singapore on 5 September, Monday, from 10am to 8pm.
