Weddings and Eye Makeup Palettes Have a Lot More in Common Than You THINK!

Unless you absolutely loathe social media and have deliberately gone out of your way to avoid it like the plague, you will know all too well that 2018, amongst other things, will always be synonymous with celeb weddings, along with several sought-after makeup brands releasing their most popular eyeshadow palettes.
What started off with the ethereal wedding of Anushka and Virat, and ended with the super savvy shaadi of PC and Nick Jeeju; 2018 gave us enough hashtags to last a lifetime: #couplegoals #outfitgoals #weddinggoals #sonamdiwedding #deepveer #nickyanka and so on.
But what really cemented the celeb-wedding hype was the hashtag for all things make-up. We were so here for every single look and so were all the major makeup brands, judging by the epic eyeshadow palettes that they launched.

I’m sure you’re asking the question: ‘What do Makeup Palettes have to do with weddings?’  A lot actually, let me tell you. 2018 witnessed many matrimonial occasions along with several sought-after brands releasing their most popular eyeshadow palettes. One may be inspired by the other or at least we choose to believe so, and here is why.

Anushka and Virat – The New Nude Eye shadow Palette by Huda Beauty

So this pinkish, nude eye shadow palette by Huda Kattan was released almost a year after one of the most memorable weddings which took place between Anuskha and Virat late last year. Not only do we feel that this palette almost popped out of Anushka’s gorgeous dress, but this wedding also set the mood for many others to follow suit and we don’t mean just weddings. It was either makeup artists who took inspiration from the weddings or the other way round. Take a look for yourself and you’ll see why!

Meghan and Harry – SUQQU Designing Color Eyes Palette in “Cleaned”

The heavyweight Tokyo brand Suqqu’s Clean eye-palette has given us many reasons to believe that Meghan Markle must have been in Harrods one fine day, seen this new range of eyeshadows which is as plain as her wedding dress was, and taken the inspiration straight to Givenchy! It was certainly a very “Clean” look. They were both (the palette and Meghan’s dress), remarkably plain yet impactful.

Sonam and Anand – NARSissist Wanted Eyeshadow Palette by NARS

Every time we look at Sonam and Anand’s wedding pictures, we wonder why they didn’t get as much coverage or publicity as the event should have. Much to our surprise, neither did this eyeshadow palette by Nars. And that isn’t the only similarity. The colours of the palette show instant inspiration by the bride and grooms outfits, or is it just a coincidence?

Deepika and Ranveer – Sultry Eye Shadow Palette by Anastasia Beverly Hills

Okay it was a bit tricky to decide which wedding pictures to choose from, but we picked the religious ceremony as the resemblance between the colours of this dress and Anastasia’s limited edition Sultry Palette had us wondering if Anastasia too is a fan. If the name of the palette isn’t enough to make you think of Deepika’s “Sultry” eyes in every movie where she is a Rani, I’m sure the colours of this palette will have you think again.

Priyanka and Nick – Naked Cherry Eye Shadow Palette by Urban Decay

Wow! This wedding seemed to go on and on and on, but we were as disappointed in Urban Decay’s “Cherry” Palette as we were in the half-sleeved, “not much to write home about”, extremely expensive wedding dress worn by Priyanka with white accessories and a very unimpressively dressed Nick by her side. Our sentiments about the wedding dresses are very much in sync with the Naked Cherry eyeshadow palette which really doesn’t do very much except for shouting Red.
